Bir Singh won the hearts of the audience of all classes with his brilliant singing

Patiala, February 20- On the second day of the series of programs dedicated to International Mother Language Day, the Language Department Punjab organized the singing of Sufi singer Bir Singh at Punjabi University Patiala. During this program organized under the leadership of Director Language Department Punjab Jaswant Singh Zafar, Bir Singh entertained a large number of audience by singing high quality Punjabi poetry.

Patiala, February 20- On the second day of the series of programs dedicated to International Mother Language Day, the Language Department Punjab organized the singing of Sufi singer Bir Singh at Punjabi University Patiala. During this program organized under the leadership of Director Language Department Punjab Jaswant Singh Zafar, Bir Singh entertained a large number of audience by singing high quality Punjabi poetry.
Jaswant Singh Zafar said that instead of wasting time in opposing the subjects presented in any art form, we should encourage artists who give presentations in the cultural realm. Under this, such efforts are being made by the Language Department to connect the new generation with quality singing as per the demand of the time. Under this, today's program has been organized in collaboration with Sahitya Sabha of Punjabi Department of Punjabi University.
He said that the Language Department is continuously organizing programs to promote quality literature and other forms of art. He appealed to the young generation to read, listen, write and speak well. Singer Bir Singh started his performance with his popular songs 'Tu kyun ud jaane ve moran' and 'Ajj-kalh'. After this, on the request of the young audience, he made the audience dance by singing 'Mera tere vikh khayal jiha radda aye', 'Jhanjharan da joda', 'Shaam sunehri te vidaai khayal da par eh riya nahi koi' and 'Chihra aadi tera sab bhula dita aye'.
During this, Bir Singh changed the atmosphere with his composition 'Nanak da put haan teran teran tolang ga' about Guru Nanak Dev ji. In the end, Bir Singh made the audience dance by singing 'Tere naal ve dholna', 'Jugni' and 'Ghori'. Bir Singh was honored by the Language Department by presenting him a set of books and a shawl. Assistant Director of Language Department Amarinder Singh thanked everyone.
On this occasion, Head of Punjabi Department of Punjabi University Dr. Gurmukh Singh, former Dean Dr. Rajinderpal Singh Brar, Dr. Gursewak Singh Lambi, Dr. Rajwant Punjabi, Research Officer of Language Department Dr. Sukhdarshan Singh Chahal, District Language Officer Dr. Manjinder Singh, Superintendent Swarn Kaur, Research Assistant Harpreet Singh and Simranjit Singh were also present.
