62nd All India Prince Harbhajan Singh Memorial Tournament gets off to a grand start

Mahilpur, February 14 - The 62nd All India Prince Harbhajan Singh Memorial Football Tournament being organised at the playground of Sri Guru Gobind Singh Khalsa College Mahilpur under the leadership of Kulwant Singh Sangha, President of Principal Harbhajan Singh Sporting Club Mahilpur got off to a grand start. At the beginning of the tournament, prayers were offered for everyone's well-being.

At the beginning of the tournament, prayers were offered for everyone's well-being.
MLA from Chabbewal constituency Dr Ishan Kumar attended the opening match of the tournament as the chief guest and got introduced to the players. He praised the organisers for the excellent arrangements of the tournament and announced financial assistance of Rs 10 lakh to the committee. On this occasion, Patron of Sikh Educational Council Dr Jang Bahadur Singh Rai, Kundan Singh Sajjan, Retired Prof Gurjit Singh Sidhu, Retired SP Shaminderjit Singh Bains, Principal Dr Parvinder Singh, Bahadur Singh Bains Bharta were specially present.
In today's first academy category (under-18) match, Football Academy Mahilpur defeated Himachal Football Academy by a margin of 4-0. For the winning team, the first goal of the match was scored by Mohammad Nauman in the second minute, while the second and third goals were scored by Rohit Kumar in the 24th and 34th minutes of the match. The fourth goal was scored by Harpreet Singh in the 50th minute.
In the second college category match, the teams of Football Academy Paldi and Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Khiyala remained tied at 1-1 till the end. The first goal for the Paldi team was scored by Gurjeet Singh in the 33rd minute of the match and the opposing team scored in the 97th minute. In the decision of penalty corner, the team of Sant Baba Bhag Singh University, Khiyala won by 6-5. In the club category match, RCF Kapurthala defeated Namdhari Football Club by a margin of 2-1.
On this occasion, Club President Kulwant Singh Sangha while welcoming all the guests, players and spectators said that in this tournament being organised in the name of a hardworking personality like Prince Harbhajan Singh, 12 renowned clubs from across the country, 10 from college category and 8 football academies will display their sports skills. He also thanked the Chief Guest Dr Ishank Kumar MLA and the colleagues from India and abroad.

Tarlochan Singh Sandhu, Virinder Sharma, Sewak Singh Bains, Prince Dheeraj Sharma, Kulwaran Singh Bains, Dr. Parampreet Kandowal, Vijay Bombeli, Babu Amarjit Singh, Harmel Singh Saini, Mohan Singh Bains, Karamjit Singh, Gurminder Singh Kandowal, Baljinder Mann, Sukhdev Singh, Rupinderjot Singh Babbu, Master Baninder Singh, Arvinder Singh Haveli, Jagjit Singh Ganeshpur, Gurdayal Singh Sarpanch, Prof. Sarwan Singh etc. Many football lovers were present.
