Himachal government is committed to strengthen health services in rural areas: Deputy Chief Minister

Una, January 27- Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that the Himachal government is fully committed to strengthening health facilities in rural areas. He said that the priority of the government is to ensure adequate availability of doctors in villages so that people can get quality health services near their homes. The Deputy Chief Minister also urged the doctors to contribute to providing services in rural areas so that the general public can get the benefit of these facilities.

Una, January 27- Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri said that the Himachal government is fully committed to strengthening health facilities in rural areas. He said that the priority of the government is to ensure adequate availability of doctors in villages so that people can get quality health services near their homes. The Deputy Chief Minister also urged the doctors to contribute to providing services in rural areas so that the general public can get the benefit of these facilities.
He said this in a public meeting organized on Monday on the occasion of inauguration of state-of-the-art X-ray and ultrasound machines installed at the Civil Hospital Haroli at a cost of about Rs 50 lakh. He said that Haroli Hospital has been upgraded from 50 to 100 beds and efforts are being made to provide the services of 13 doctors here. Apart from this, about Rs 8.50 lakh will be spent on the construction of the new building of the hospital.

Announcement of ambulance, analyzer and cell counter for hospital-
At the event, the Deputy Chief Minister announced to give a state-of-the-art ambulance to the hospital in the name of late Professor Simmi Agnihotri. Along with this, he also announced to install a fully autonomous analyzer and cell counter.
The Deputy Chief Minister said that the state government is generously funding the strengthening of health services. Full support is being provided for the development work of PGI Satellite Centre at Malahat in Una district and various medical colleges.

Haroli is one of the fastest developing assembly constituencies in the country-
Mr Agnihotri said that Haroli Assembly constituency is one of the fastest developing areas in the country today. Discussing the expansion of health facilities in Haroli area, he informed that apart from the Civil Hospital, Community Health Centres have been opened in Badsali, Dulahad, Beatan and Kungdat. Primary Health Centres have been established in Khadd, Saloh, Badhera, Kuthad and Panjawar. Soon the Primary Health Centre of Panjawar will be upgraded to a Community Health Centre, and a new Primary Health Centre will be opened in Baliwal.
He said that courses will be started in accordance with the needs of modern times in Prof. Simmi Agnihotri Government Degree College located in Haroli. He said that these new courses will be available from the upcoming academic session, so that the children of the area can successfully participate in every kind of competition and build a better future.
Referring to other development works going on in Haroli area, the Deputy Chief Minister said that the construction work of Haroli bus stand will be completed by March 31. A rest house of Jal Shakti Department is being built in the area at a cost of about Rs 7 crore. Also, the Pandoga-Tyudi bridge is being constructed at a cost of about Rs 52 crore.
Describing the Una-Haroli bridge at Haroli as an 'engineering marvel', the Deputy Chief Minister said it is being developed as a commercial and tourist hub. He said food markets will be developed on both sides of the bridge where self-help groups will be able to sell their products.
The Deputy Chief Minister also stressed on law and order and said that strict steps are being taken to maintain peace in Una district. A 'zero tolerance' policy has been adopted on illegal mining and drug trade. He directed the administration to take strict action against illegal activities without any pressure.
During the program, Chief Medical Superintendent Dr. S.K. Verma, MS Dr. Sanjay Mankotia and BMO Dr. Pushpendra Rana welcomed the Deputy Chief Minister and expressed gratitude for the announcements made in the health sector. Senior District Congress leaders Ranjit Rana, Ashok Thakur, Vinod Bittu, SDM Vishal Thakur along with other officials and local people were present in the program.
