
Important role of voters in building a strong democracy - Dr. Akshita Gupta
Nawanshahr- On the directions of the Chief Electoral Officer Punjab and the instructions of Deputy Commissioner-cum- District Election Officer Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Rajesh Dhiman, a district level function of National Voters Day was organized at DAN College of Education for Girls, Nawanshahr. SDM Nawanshahr Dr. Akshita Gupta attended the function as the chief guest. Wishing the district residents a happy National Voters Day, she said that becoming a voter is necessary to be a part of democracy and voters have an important role in building a strong democracy.

She said that India is the largest democracy in the world and the role of voters has been important in making it successful. She said that young voters should not only exercise their vote but also motivate others to vote. Because the right to vote is a very important right. She said that we should exercise our right to vote based on our own discretion without any greed.
On this occasion, the students gave a message about India's strong democracy and the importance of voting and voting through cultural programs, speeches, poems, songs, skits, dance and Giddha.
On this occasion, new voters were given voter identity cards and an oath was also taken to vote.
Similarly, besides the winners of the Voter's Day competitions, the students who presented cultural programs were also honored. During this, SDM Balachaur Ravinder Kumar Bansal was honored as the best ERO, Thakur Prakash Singh as the best Nodal Officer for Colleges and Resham Lal as the best BLO. Apart from this, other personalities who played an important role in the election process were also honored.
