SSP Mohali Deepak Pareek conducted a surprise check of the check posts at 3 am, during which the inspector was found sleeping, after which Inspector Bhupinder Singh was suspended. The inspector was already serving in the police lines and was assigned check post duty. Inspector Bhupinder Singh posted in the police lines has been suspended due to negligence in duty.
When asked about the suspension of the said inspector, confirming it, SSP Deepak Pareek said that they conducted a surprise check of the check post at 3 am during which an inspector was sleeping in his car, hence he has been suspended. His name is Bhupinder Singh. He was earlier in charge of PC branch and is now posted in police lines.
The SSP said that check posts are set up daily by the police and especially on the borders of the district with Chandigarh, Haryana and Himachal Pradesh. Along with this, check posts are also set up within the city limits to keep a watch on the activities of unwanted elements. And about 80 to 90 check posts are set up within and around the city limits. Where vehicles are checked and reflective stickers are put up by the police on commercial vehicles plying at night.
