
Drugs make a person physically and mentally ill – Mr. Chaman Singh (Project Director)
Nawanshahr- Red Cross Integrated Rehabilitation Center for Drug Abuse Victims, Nawanshahr organized an awareness camp under “Drug-Free India Campaign” at Government Senior Secondary School Kahma. Which was presided over by Mr. Shankar Das (Principal).

On this occasion, Chaman Singh (Project Director) first introduced the Red Cross, which is a world-wide organization. He informed about the history of the Red Cross and also explained in detail about the social welfare work being done by the Red Cross. He gave information about the Drug-Free India Campaign mission and said that we all have to work together to make a drug-free India.
This should be started from our own home first. We should be aware of the history, culture and lives of great people of our country and it is important to give information about them to our children. He informed the students of the school about the problems they face in their lives and asked them to share any problems with their teachers.
He explained in detail about the diseases caused by drug use. He asked the students to always stay away from bad company. He said that drugs are not the solution to any problem. Drug addiction makes a person physically and mentally ill.
On this occasion, Mrs. Kamaljit Kaur (Counselor) shed light on the work of the center. She also explained in detail about the free facilities provided by the center to the admitted patients.
On this occasion, Mr. Shankar Das (Principal) informed the students about the ill effects of drugs and assured them that they will continue to conduct awareness seminars against drugs in the school. School staff members Pritpal, Madhvi, Malvinder Kaur, Kulvinder Lal, Mitu, Yashpal Singh (Campus Manager) and students of the school were present in this seminar.
