In view of Municipal Corporation Election: Carrying of any type of firearms, weapons, explosives, inflammable substances and sharp weapons inside the district limits is prohibited

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar 18, December: Punjab State Municipal Corporation Elections - General and Bye-elections are scheduled to be held on 21st December 2024. In order to maintain law and order, conduct the election process properly and maintain peace in the interest of people, carrying of any type of firearms, weapons, explosives, inflammable substances and sharp weapons like Takua, spear, trident etc. inside the district limits is prohibited.

District Magistrate, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, Smt. Ashika Jain, IAS, exercising powers conferred under Section 163 of the Indian Civil Security Code, 2023, has imposed a ban on carrying any type of firearms, ammunition, explosives, inflammable substances and sharp weapons like Takua, spear, trident etc. within the limits of the villages of the district from 17.12.2024 to 22.12.2024.
No person shall violate this on the above dates. He said that in view of the seriousness of the situation, a unilateral order is passed in the name of the general public. The Senior Superintendent of Police will ensure compliance of this order.
