Nine plastic envelopes and iron wire removed from buffalo's stomach, successful operation in Regional Veterinary Hospital Barnoh

Una, December 16- A skilled team of doctors at the Regional Veterinary Hospital Barnoh in Una district succeeded in removing nine plastic envelopes and iron wire from the stomach of a buffalo. This operation was conducted at Barnoh Hospital. This was the 40th successful operation for 'diaphragmatic hernia'. The buffalo is now completely healthy and has been handed back to its owner. The animal is being constantly monitored by a team of doctors.

Una, December 16- A skilled team of doctors at the Regional Veterinary Hospital Barnoh in Una district succeeded in removing nine plastic envelopes and iron wire from the stomach of a buffalo. This operation was conducted at Barnoh Hospital.
This was the 40th successful operation for 'diaphragmatic hernia'. The buffalo is now completely healthy and has been handed back to its owner. The animal is being constantly monitored by a team of doctors.
The operation was presided over by Dr Vinay Kumar Sharma, Deputy Director, Animal Health and Breeding Department, Una district. The team of doctors who performed the operation included Dr Nishant Ranaut, Dr Shilpa Gupta, Dr Nikita Chaudhary and support team members Ramesh Chand, Simran, Gopal Das, Ekta, Rishika, Dheeraj, Bharat Bhushan, Amarjeet, Mukesh, Sawan and Rohit.
Dr. Vinay Kumar Sharma said that earlier such operations were done only at the university level in Ludhiana, but now this facility is also available in the regional veterinary hospital of Una district. He said that apart from Una district, cattle farmers of nearby districts like Hamirpur, Bilaspur, Kangra, Solan and Punjab are also getting the benefit of this service started here a year ago, and they have got their animals treated here. This was the 40th successful operation of diaphragmatic hernia in the hospital.
Apart from this, facilities for blood testing, milk testing, and various types of surgeries are available at the Regional Veterinary Hospital Barnoh. Also, ultrasound facility is provided for the treatment of problems related to animal reproduction.
He said that in the first phase of the operation, nine plastic envelopes and iron wires were removed from the buffalo's stomach, while in the second phase, the buffalo was completely anaesthetised and the hole in its chest was stitched. For making this successful operation possible, Dr Nishant Ranaut thanked Deputy Director Dr Vinay Kumar Sharma for his guidance and timely support.
