
Chief Minister praises Punjab Police for foiling deep-rooted conspiracy to defame Punjab
SAS Nagar (Mohali), December 4- Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann today praised the Punjab Police for immediately foiling the attack on senior Akali leader and former Deputy Chief Minister Sukhbir Singh Badal in Amritsar, which prevented the deep-rooted conspiracy to defame the state from succeeding.

Talking to reporters on the occasion of dedicating the 'Nishan-e-Inquilab' Plaza here today, the Chief Minister strongly condemned the attack. He said that there is no place for such a heinous act at a holy place like Sri Harmandir Sahib. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government has already deployed around 175 police personnel besides senior police officers to prevent any untoward incident. He said that this yielded positive results as the Punjab Police foiled the conspiracy to defame the state, which was deployed to keep a watchful eye around Sri Harmandir Sahib.
The Chief Minister said that he is keeping a close watch on the entire incident and has directed the police officers to be on maximum alert against anti-social elements. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that he has already instructed the DGP to conduct a thorough investigation into the matter. He said that Punjab is the land of great Gurus, Pirs-Prophets, Saints-Great Men, Martyrs which has always been an example for humanity for the values of brotherhood and mutual cooperation. He said that maintaining peace and tranquility in the state is his top priority and the government will not allow anyone to do such a thing.
Strongly advocating for the start of international flights from Shaheed Bhagat Singh Airport, Mohali and Sri Guru Ramdas Airport, Amritsar, the Chief Minister said that it is necessary to save time, money and energy of Punjabis going abroad. He said that infrastructure is needed to facilitate the take-off and landing of international flights at these two airports.
He said that the state government is making concerted efforts to ensure that international flights start soon. Bhagwant Singh Mann said that the state government will leave no stone unturned in this task for the convenience of Punjabis living in the country and abroad.
