Organizing a training program on the WhatsApp app National Pest Surveillance System developed by the government for the prevention of crop and pest diseases

SAS Nagar, December 04, 2024: Under the leadership of Chief Agriculture Officer SAS Nagar Dr. Gurmail Singh A training program was organized in the presence of advanced farmers of the district and officers/employees of the department regarding the WhatsApp app National Pest Surveillance System (NPSS) developed by the government for the proper control of pests and diseases attacking various crops.

SAS Nagar, December 04, 2024: Under the leadership of Chief Agriculture Officer SAS Nagar Dr. Gurmail Singh A training program was organized in the presence of advanced farmers of the district and officers/employees of the department regarding the WhatsApp app National Pest Surveillance System (NPSS) developed by the government for the proper control of pests and diseases attacking various crops.
In this training, Plant Protection Officers of Central Integrated Pest Management Center Jalandhar, Chetan and Chandra Bhan, besides Rajbhar Singh SA, shared information about the use of the app. He said that using this app, farmers can identify and prevent pests and diseases on crops by taking photos of them through their mobile phones.
He also shared his views on the attack of pink caterpillar on wheat crops and said that the attack of this caterpillar has been seen more in Mansa, Ferozepur, Moga and Sangrur districts.
On this occasion, the Chief Agriculture Officer appealed to the farmers of the district to use this app more and more for timely and proper prevention of diseases and pests affecting their crops. On this occasion, Dr. Sandeep Bahl, Agriculture Officer Derabassi, Dr. Gurdial Kumar ADO (TA), Dr. Danish Kumar ADO, Dr. Mandeep Kaur ADO, Dr. Jaswinder Singh ADO, Sucha Singh AEO, Rupinder Kaur, Amritpal Singh ASI Jagdeep Singh BTM (Atma) and progressive farmers from various villages of the district participated.
