
Special camp under voter list correction program on November 30 and December 8: Additional District Election Officer
Hoshiarpur: As per the instructions of the Election Commission, Additional Deputy Commissioner (J)-cum-Additional District Election Officer Rahul Chaba held a meeting with the representatives of political parties today to inform the political parties about the special correction program of voter lists of Assembly Constituency 044-Chabbewal on the basis of January 1, 2025.
Hoshiarpur: As per the instructions of the Election Commission, Additional Deputy Commissioner (J)-cum-Additional District Election Officer Rahul Chaba held a meeting with the representatives of political parties today to inform the political parties about the special correction program of voter lists of Assembly Constituency 044-Chabbewal on the basis of January 1, 2025.
During this, he informed that as per the scheduled program, the concerned Booth Level Officers (BLOs) will be present at their respective polling stations from 10 am to 5 pm on November 30, 2024 (Saturday) and December 8, 2024 (Sunday). They will receive claims and objections from eligible persons. It is worth mentioning that these claims and objections will be received from 27th November to 12th December 2024 and these claims and objections will be disposed of by 24th December. The final publication of the electoral rolls will be on 6th January 2025.
The Additional District Election Officer appealed to the Presidents/Secretaries of all political parties to assist the BLO in the work of the BLO by appointing Booth Level Agents (BLAs) at the polling stations. He said that persons who have attained the age of 18 years or more on 1st January 2025 can apply for inclusion of their names in the electoral rolls through Form No. 6.
If anyone has any objection to the name entered in the list or wants to get their name removed, then they should apply by filling Form No. 7. To correct any mistake in the list, change in address or duplicate voter card, Form No. 8 can be used. He said that for the above work, voters should contact the concerned Booth Level Officer or Assistant Election Registration Officer 044-Chabbewal.
He said that voters should apply online through the helpline app or NVSP portal. On this occasion, Election Tehsildar Sarabjit Singh, Rajnish Tandon from Indian National Congress, Jaspal Singh from Aam Aadmi Party and other officials were also present.
