SAS Nagar, April 25: Phase 11 police of Mohali have busted a prostitution racket being run under the guise of a spa centre in Forum, Phase 10. Six women including the owner of the spa centre and a man who had visited the spa have been arrested.
DSP City 2, Mr. Harsimran Singh Bal informed that all of them have been arrested as part of the drive being run against immoral activities under the directions of SSP Mr. Deepak Pareek. He revealed that the police had received a secret information that prostitution racket was being run in “Good Relax Spa” situated on the second floor of SCF No. 76 in Phase 10.
Acting on this, Incharge of Phase 11 police station, ASI Amarjit Singh and police team raided the place and apprehended Sunita, a resident of Chandigarh, who was running a prostitution racket under the guise of a spa. Besides, Preet Mayar, a resident of Rajasthan, Geet Goyal, a resident of Patiala, Harjeet Kaur, a resident of Patiala, Gurpreet Kaur, a resident of Sangrur, and Sonia, a resident of Derabassi, along with a visitor to the spa were detained.
He further informed that in this regard, the police have registered a case under sections 3, 4, and 5 of the Immoral Traffic Act. He said that the accused were produced before the honourable court today, where the court sent all of them on one-day police remand.
