Kharar (Shahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar), November 20, 2024: With the initiative of District Employment and Business Bureau Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, students were made aware of self-employment schemes at the local Government Polytechnic College Khunimajra.
During this seminar, led by the Principal of the college, Rajiv Puri, officials from various departments interacted with the final year students. The Executive Principal of the college, Praveen Kaur, welcomed the guests and motivated the students to adopt self-employment.
During the camp, Dr. from the Animal Husbandry Department Prem Kumar Veterinary Officer Kharar, Simardeep Singh DFO, Karanvir Singh Dairy Inspector, Nabiha Career Counselor from District Employment and Entrepreneurship Bureau and Monica Branch Manager, Punjab Gramin Bank from Lead Bank informed about various loan schemes and resources for starting employment.
Professor in charge of Civil Engineering of the college Prof. Gurbakshish Singh Antal informed about various areas of self-employment for students of Civil Engineering, Electrical, Mechanical Electronic, Medical Lab Technology, Computer and Modern Office Practice.
Bank Manager Monica informed about subsidy schemes and government assistance for setting up various industries. Ravinder Walia, Training and Placement Officer of the college said that 223 students participated in today's camp. Amandeep Kaur Lecturer English and Amandeep Kaur Lecturer Computer played an important role in making this camp a success.
