Una, November 20 - 'Eat Right Mela' will be organized in Una on December 1, in which Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri will participate as the chief guest. This fair will be organized in the premises of Government Senior Secondary Student School Una.
Una, November 20 - 'Eat Right Mela' will be organized in Una on December 1, in which Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri will participate as the chief guest. This fair will be organized in the premises of Government Senior Secondary Student School Una. The fair will be inaugurated at 10 am and it will continue till 5 pm. The main objective of this fair is to make the public aware about nutritious food, healthy lifestyle, and right eating habits. This information was given by Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal on Wednesday after a meeting held regarding the preparations for the fair. The Deputy Commissioner gave necessary guidelines to all the concerned departments to ensure the success of the fair.
The Deputy Commissioner said that all departments have been instructed to set up attractive and informative stalls in the fair to highlight the importance of taste and nutrition along with healthy food. Special care will be taken to decorate each stall beautifully and uniformly. It will be ensured that some beneficial and interesting things for health are displayed at every stall, so that people develop awareness and interest towards proper and healthy eating.
30 stalls will be set up in the fair:
The Deputy Commissioner said that 30 attractive stalls and exhibitions will be set up in the school ground to showcase healthy food items and raise awareness about natural farming. Through these stalls, efforts will be made to make people adopt nutritious food habits and explain the importance of proper diet. Other related departments including Agriculture, Horticulture, Animal Husbandry, Ayurveda, DRDA, and Food Supply Department will participate in these stalls. Also, local food items, organic products and traditional dishes prepared by self-help groups will also be displayed.
Sip jaggery tea with the taste of traditional dishes:
Jatin Lal said that special stalls will be set up in the fair to promote traditional cuisine and local products. There will be a separate stall of Himachal's traditional cuisine, where only healthy and nutritious dishes will be presented. Fried food, white sugar and refined flour products will not be included in it. People will also be able to sip jaggery tea in the fair. Along with this, cow, buffalo and goat milk, curd, cheese, and other dairy products will be available.
Apart from this, the measures and benefits of including chemical-free natural farming products and Ayurvedic products in the lifestyle will also be explained. An exhibition of various types of fruits grown in Una and the products prepared from them will also be a part of the fair, where information related to them will be shared.
Best chef competition will be held in the fair:

Organising the Best Chef competition will be a special attraction in the fair. In this competition, the participants will prepare their dishes on the spot, on the basis of which the best chef will be selected and awarded. Along with this, the stalls set up in the fair will also be judged on the basis of their creativity, presentation and quality. Those who present the best stalls and excellent products will also be encouraged by giving prizes.
A mini marathon will be organized:
As part of the fair, a mini marathon will be organized in three categories of women, men and senior citizens at 6 am on December 1. Apart from this, cultural programs based on folk culture will also be organized in the fair. Medical checkup and blood donation camps will also be organized in the school ground.
There will be sports and entertainment activities in the fair:
Various entertainment programs will be organized along with sports activities in the fair. During this time, about 15 types of activities and competitions will be organized including tug of war, musical chair, cycling, quiz competition, painting, dance, slogan writing, song and music.
Let us tell you, the Food Safety and Standards Authority of India (FSSAI) is going to organize Eat Right Fairs at the district headquarters in 3 districts of the state, Una, Sirmour and Kinnaur. In this series, a fair will be organized in Una on 1 December.
