Garhshankar, November 15: Aam Aadmi Party made a lot of promises to the common people to expand its base in Punjab; while the common people have a lot of expectations from the new government. Before the formation of the government of Aam Aadmi Party in Punjab, the candidates standing from various constituencies made a lot of promises to make the government prosperous by making Punjab completely drug free to save the youth of Punjab. 
But every day, there are reports of deaths of youth due to drug addiction in newspapers, channels and social media and drugs are being sold openly. The newly formed government is also proving unsuccessful in stopping drug abuse. It is becoming common to see that drug addicts have made their own places to consume some kind of drug. The promises made by them are seen to be falling flat somewhere. But every day we get to hear and see about the death of youth due to drug addiction through newspapers, channels and social media. It is also being heard that the new government formed in the state is also proving unsuccessful in curbing drug abuse.
One such case has come to light of a kiln built on the road from Rampur Bilron to Kukran, which has been closed for a long time and is used as a den by drug addicts. It is seen that the youth of many nearby villages come to this closed kiln to consume various kinds of drugs day and night. The residents who come and go on this road are also afraid that some drug addict may rob them. At the same time, it is becoming difficult for the people of the area to come and go on this road day by day.
Drug addicts go to closed kilns and rooms built in places like bushes and consume various types of drugs without any fear. It is surprising that leaders of various political parties and other police officers pass by the road next to this kiln. But the sad thing is that no one notices this closed kiln. The government, administration and local police should pay attention to this. So that the drug dealers can be controlled and the large scale drug trade in the area can be curbed.
