SAS Nagar, June 4- The state secretary of the Communist Party of India (CPI), Comrade Bant Singh Brar, has stated that Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann should immediately expose the names of leaders and officials involved in the nexus of corruption, drugs, and gangsters in the state. Addressing a press conference about the party’s national conference to be held in Chandigarh from July 21 to 25, he said that drugs, corruption, and gangsters have a stronghold in Punjab, and this phenomenon has been ongoing for a long time due to the collusion of leaders and senior state officials. Therefore, the Chief Minister should immediately reveal the names of all leaders and officials involved in this nexus to the public and take strict action against them.
He alleged that a police state is prevailing in Punjab, and the homes of drug users are being demolished, but no action is being taken against any political leader or senior official involved in this trade. He demanded that strict action be taken against individuals involved in this trade as per the law. He further stated that the police in Punjab are killing people by staging fake encounters, and the Chief Minister should take immediate action on this matter, as the country’s law does not grant the police the right to kill anyone.
He said that at present, communal forces across the country are trying to gain strength, and the party, along with the country’s intellectuals and impartial people, will confront this and not allow the nation to be divided on the basis of religion and caste.

He said that by bringing together leftist and democratic people, a political alternative for the poor will be presented in the country. The party strongly condemns the massacre of tribals labeled as Maoists in the country. He demanded the immediate release of those who have completed their sentences.
He further stated that the Punjab government’s ban on property registrations for plots smaller than 500 square yards, within the red line of villages, and in 20,000 colonies should be lifted immediately, and if necessary, a special session of the Legislative Assembly should be convened to amend the law. He said that due to these restrictions, laborers, landless people, SC, BC, and other poor communities in the state are being affected.
