Patiala, November 7 - Deputy Commissioner Patiala Dr. Preeti Yadav said that 10 lakh 13 thousand 997 metric tons of paddy has arrived in the markets of the district till last day and out of this 10 lakh 5 thousand 384 metric tons of paddy has been purchased. . The Deputy Commissioner said that 451556 metric tons of paddy has been purchased from Pangrain, 244797 metric tons from Markfed, 188100 metric tons from Pansp, 117807 metric tons from Punjab State Warehouse Corporation and 2438 metric tons from FCI. While 686 metric tons of paddy was purchased by traders.

The Deputy Commissioner said that the farmers of the purchased paddy have been paid Rs 2210.78 crore so far which is 100 percent of the purchased paddy. He said that the lifting work of the purchased paddy is also going on rapidly and so far 7 lakh metric tons of paddy has been lifted from the markets and more than 50 thousand metric tons of paddy is being lifted daily.
On this occasion, he appealed to the farmers to use in situ techniques to dispose of paddy straw. He said that with the use of this technology, while the fertility of the soil increases, there is protection from environmental pollution. He said that for the safe future of the coming generations, it is important that we become aware of the environment.
