District Mandis Record Purchase 81 per cent of the expected arrival of paddy by Tuesday evening

Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, November 5, 2024: District Sahibzada Ajit Singh Mandis has recorded 1,74,511 MT of paddy procurement till Tuesday evening, which constitutes 81.25 per cent of the expected arrival for this year. Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Aashika Jain, while divulging the details, this evening, said that the tentative target for arrival of paddy in the district, this time, has been estimated at 2,14,776 MT. As 81.25 per cent has already been purchased so far, only 19 per cent of arrival is yet to come to the Mandis.

Deputy Commissioner Mrs. Aashika Jain, while divulging the details, this evening, said that the tentative target for arrival of paddy in the district, this time, has been estimated at 2,14,776 MT. As 81.25 per cent has already been purchased so far, only 19 per cent of arrival is yet to come to the Mandis. 
She further said that about 71004 MT of paddy have been lifted from the mandis of the district so far and the remaining crop will also be lifted soon. According to the Deputy Commissioner, an amount of Rs. 383.15 crore has been made to the farmers for this purchased paddy so far. Providing agency-wise procurement details, she said that 56980 MT of paddy have been purchased by PUNGRAIN, 41242 MT by MARKFED, 38305 MT by PUNSUP, 15874 MT by Punjab State Warehousing Corporation, 18733 MT by Food Corporation of India. 
A total of 677 MT of paddy have been purchased by private traders during the ongoing season. She assured that farmers will not face any kind of problem in selling paddy in the markets.
