Patiala, October 22 - Minister of Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education and Research of Punjab Dr. Balbir Singh took the Union Minister of State Ravneet Singh Bittu by his arms and said that Bittu has forgotten the interests of the farmers of Punjab and the state by kneeling before Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

The Health Minister visited Lung, Lot, Patiala and other grain markets this evening and interacted with the farmers. Dr. Balbir Singh said that the Punjab government led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann is standing with the farmers and is putting pressure on the central government so that after buying the gold-like crops of the farmers, lifting them from the markets should also be done simultaneously.
He asked Bittu to tell where he is? He said that ever since Ravneet Bittu became the minister, the push has increased with Punjab. He said that Bittu should tell that he went to Parliament three times from Punjab and what did he bring for Punjab? So when he has become something in the Modi government, now he should do something for the people of Punjab.
He criticized Union Minister Ravneet Singh Bittu and said that despite having Railway Department and Food Processing Department, they have not taken the arm of farmers and neither Bittu nor any other Union Minister. Labour, sheller millers and transporters are our backbone but the Modi government is trying to destroy them by becoming an enemy of the marketing system and the environment of Punjab is being deliberately damaged.
He said that due to the step-motherly treatment of Punjab by the central government, the farmers have been forced to go to the markets with crops like gold. SDM Nabha along with him on this occasion. Officials of procurement agencies including Ismat Vijay Singh and SDM Patiala Manjit Kaur were also present.
