
Chabewal by-election - first randomization of polling staff
Hoshiarpur - On the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the first randomization of the polling staff was done today under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal in view of the by-election of the Legislative Assembly Constituency Chabewal. The District Election Officer said that the duty of polling staff for the by-election has been imposed by mixing the data of staff for 205 polling booths in Chabewal Assembly Constituency.
Hoshiarpur - On the instructions of the Election Commission of India, the first randomization of the polling staff was done today under the supervision of the Deputy Commissioner-cum-District Election Officer Komal Mittal in view of the by-election of the Legislative Assembly Constituency Chabewal. The District Election Officer said that the duty of polling staff for the by-election has been imposed by mixing the data of staff for 205 polling booths in Chabewal Assembly Constituency.
He said that the duty of 1232 polling staff has been assigned for the assembly constituency, which includes 308 PROs and 616 POs. Deputy Commissioner Komal Mittal said that according to the notification issued by the Election Commission, voting will be held on 13 November 2024 and counting of votes will be done on 23 November 2024. The last date for filing nomination papers is October 25. The nomination papers will be scrutinized on 28th October and the date of withdrawal of nomination is 30th October 2024.
Nomination papers will be collected in the office of the Additional Deputy Commissioner-cum-Returning Officer at the District Administrative Complex on the appointed days from 11 am to 3 pm. He said that the district administration will leave no stone unturned to conduct the Vidhan Sabha by-elections in a fair and transparent manner. He said that where MCMC A committee is being formed to keep an eye on the paid news, there, immediate action will be taken on the complaints received regarding the violation of the ideal election code through the C-Vizil app.
He appealed to the representatives of the political parties that strict compliance of the election code will be ensured. Additional Deputy Commissioner (R)-cum-Returning Officer Rahul Chaba, Election Tehsildar Sarabjit Singh, DIO Pradeep Singh, Deputy District Education Officer (R) Dheeraj Vashisht, Election Law Officer Deepak Kumar, Lakhbir Singh etc. were present on this occasion.
