Patiala, October 18 - The entire district administration is deployed in mandis for smooth procurement and lifting of farmers' crops during the current monsoon season. 57 officers including 16 PCS officers of the district are ensuring smooth procurement and lifting of paddy in different markets of the district. Deputy Commissioner Dr Preeti Yadav said that the farmers should not face any kind of difficulty in the markets Therefore, in addition to all the SDMs of the district, the duties of other high officials have also been assigned to supervise each market of the district and make necessary arrangements.

Dr. Priti Yadav said that the duties of all Tehsildars, BDPOs, Karja Sadhak Officers, CDPOs including the heads of various departments have also been assigned in Mandi. So that procurement of paddy can be done smoothly. He said that till yesterday, 257875 metric tons of paddy had arrived in the markets of Patiala district. Out of which 229374 metric tons of paddy has also been purchased.
Officials posted in different mandis of the district shared information and said that the paddy is being purchased smoothly in the mandis and the speed of lifting was a bit slow due to the congestion on the roads yesterday. It has also started rapidly today and in the coming days, as soon as paddy arrives in the markets, lifting will be ensured at the same speed. He appealed to the farmers to bring dry crops to the markets and said that it is important to have the right amount of moisture in the paddy for proper purchase of the products in the markets. Therefore, the farmers bring only dry paddy to the markets so that they do not have to sit in the markets.
