Patiala, October 17 - Punjab Health and Family Welfare and Medical Education and Research Minister Dr. Balbir Singh asked us to learn from the life of Lord Valmiki and rise above caste and community and pledge to live with mutual brotherhood and harmony in the society and come forward to help each other.

Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh attended the closing ceremony of the grand satsang and Shobha Yatra organized by Valmiki Dharm Sabha dedicated to the birth anniversary of Lord Valmiki at Lahori Gate, Gandhi Nagar. Patiala MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli was also present with him. Dr. Balbir Singh said that just as Lord Valmiki helped the helpless, downtrodden and needy people, similarly we should also come forward to do good to the society by taking guidance from his life.
He said that the teachings of Maharishi Lord Valmiki teach us to maintain mutual brotherhood and harmony. During this, MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli flagged off the grand Shobha Yatra in the evening. He said that the creator God Maharshi Valmiki Ji composed the epic Ramayana, the saga of Lord Shri Ram Ji. Due to which he is called Adi Kavi.
Mata Sita stayed in his ashram and Lord Valmiki taught his sons Luv and Kush. Lord Valmiki Dharm Sabha President Rajesh Kumar Kala, Chairman Jitinder Kumar Prince, General Secretary Sanjay Tank, Treasurer Manoj Kumar Mattoo felicitated Health Minister Dr. Balbir Singh and MLA Ajitpal Singh Kohli.
DIG Mandeep Singh Sidhu, Deputy Commissioner Dr. Preeti Yadav, SSP Dr. Nanak Singh, Municipal Corporation Commissioner Dr. Rajat Ubray, Joint Commissioners Babandeep Singh Walia and Deepjot Kaur, Civil Surgeon Dr. Jitinder Kansal, Kundan Gogia and many other prominent personalities were present at the event.
