Sarpanch and Panch of the villages of Mohali came to meet MLA Kulwant Singh

SAS Nagar, October 16 - In the general Panchayat elections held on October 15, 2024 across Punjab, elected Panchayats (Sarpanch and Panch) of villages falling under Assembly constituency SAS Nagar are reaching out to meet Kulwant Singh.

SAS Nagar, October 16 - In the general Panchayat elections held on October 15, 2024 across Punjab, elected Panchayats (Sarpanch and Panch) of villages falling under Assembly constituency SAS Nagar are reaching out to meet Kulwant Singh. By this afternoon, members of the elected Panchayats of Mauli Baidwan, Patton, Raipur Kalan, Suneta, Landran, Badmajra Colony, Jujhar Nagar, Daidi, Gudana, Chau Mazra, Mote Mazra, Sambhalki, Sukhgarh and Bainrampur and a large number of villagers have thanked the government, especially the constituency MLA, for conducting the elections peacefully and without any discrimination. On this occasion, constituency MLA Kulwant Singh said that out of 73 villages falling under SAS Nagar, elections were held in 70 villages. Out of which 11 Panchayats have been elected unanimously, Sarpanchs have been elected unanimously in 4 villages and out of 471 Panchs, 191 Panchs have been elected unanimously. He said that this number would have been even higher, but the leaders of the opposition parties have fielded 1-1, 2-2 of their people in the respective villages, due to which consensus is not being formed in many villages. In the villages where elections were required, people voted peacefully, giving proof of mutual brotherhood. Constituency MLA Kulwant Singh congratulated the winning candidates and also thanked all the voters and common citizens for maintaining peace in the villages. Sardar Kulwant Singh urged the Sarpanchs and Panchs who reached his office in large numbers after the election results to give priority to the development of their villages. He said that the Sarpanch does not belong to any one party but he is the Sarpanch of the entire village. Therefore, along with development with transparency in the village, the mutual community should also be strengthened and attention should be paid to providing maximum basic facilities to the villagers. Sardar Kulwant Singh assured the newly elected that grants would be given generously for the all-round development of the villages and the ongoing works would be completed on time and estimates for new works would be prepared and sent to the Government for raising the required funds.
