Una, December 6: The office of Himachal Pradesh State Scheduled Caste Commission will soon start functioning in the government building situated in front of Krishi Vigyan Kendra on Una-Santoshgarh Road. On Friday, the Chairman of the Commission Kuldeep Kumar held a meeting with various officers including the Deputy Commissioner at the district headquarters regarding the preparations for the inauguration ceremony of the office. Kuldeep Kumar said that eminent people of the district and the state will be invited to the inauguration ceremony of this office. He directed to install sign boards from the district headquarters to the office, so that people do not face any difficulty in reaching there. He said that the office of the Commission is being opened in Una under the de-centralization policy to reduce the crowd in Shimla and ensure regional balance.
Kuldeep Kumar said that with the opening of the office in Una, the poor and backward class people will not need to go to Shimla. This step reflects the government's commitment to protect the rights of the Scheduled Castes and prompt resolution of their problems. He thanked Chief Minister Sukhwinder Singh Sukhu and Deputy Chief Minister Mukesh Agnihotri for this decision. He also directed the officials to identify land for the permanent office and complete all the formalities soon, so that the construction work of the permanent office of the Commission can also be started soon.
Tribute to Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar
During the meeting, Kuldeep Kumar paid tribute to the Constitution maker Dr. Bhimrao Ambedkar on his Mahaparinirvan Day.
Former MLA Satpal Singh Raijada, Commission member Vijay Dogra, Deputy Commissioner Jatin Lal, Superintendent of Police Rakesh Singh, Assistant Commissioner Varinder Sharma, Superintending Engineer of Water Power Department Naresh Dhiman, DFO Sushil Rana, and District Welfare Officer Anita Sharma along with many other officials were present in this meeting.
