Una, October 10 - Under the Samarth 2024 program being run by the District Disaster Management and Authority, on Thursday, villagers in sub-division Bangana were made aware about the techniques and materials used in the construction of earthquake-resistant buildings as well as the precautions to be taken while constructing houses.

During this, RK Kala Manch Chintpurni, associated with the Information and Public Relations Department, made people aware of the necessary information regarding the construction of earthquake-resistant buildings through street plays in Gram Panchayat Dhundhla and Raipur Maidan of sub-division Bangana.
The artists said that it is very important to build houses with proper technology to stay safe from disasters. He appealed to the people to consult the engineer before constructing buildings and before making any kind of structural changes so that the damage caused by earthquake can be reduced. The drama troupes made people aware about the techniques used for building safe houses and about quality materials like good cement mortar, horizontal earthquake resistant bands, reinforcement of brick walls, vertical reinforcement in jambs of openings, pillar construction, methods of piling, standards of concrete.
Besides this, on Friday, 11th October, at Bus Stand Chintpurni and Gram Panchayat Panjoa, people will be made aware about disaster risks and measures along with earthquake safe building construction through street plays by RK Kala Manch.
