Nawanshahr - District Social Security Officer Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar Rajkiran Kaur said That the state government is to award the 'State Award to Physically Handicapped' to disabled persons, employees, sportsmen and organizations who have done commendable work in the field of welfare of disabled persons.
 He said that the prescribed proforma in this regard can be obtained from the office of District Social Security Officer Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar (Tehsil Complex, District Administrative Complex Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar). Proformas complete in all respects can be submitted at the office of the District Social Security Officer by 30 October 2024. He said that incomplete and applications submitted after the due date will not be considered.
 He said that four categories of awards are to be given under this scheme Among them are Employee and Self Employed (Best Employed or Self Employed with Disability), Best Employer (Award for Best Employer), Best Self Employed/NGO and Individual/Institutions, and the fourth category is 'Handicapped Sports Person'.
