Highlights the Importance of the My Bharat Portal and Youth Engagement in Community Service Chandigarh,24th September,2024.The NSS Cell of Post Graduate Government College-11 (PGGC-11) celebrated NSS Day with a series of impactful events, including "Swachhta Hi Seva," "Seva se Sikhen," Project SARTHI, and "Ek Ped Maa ke Naam," under the "My Bharat Branding" initiative led by the State NSS Cell, Chandigarh, Ministry of Youth Affairs, Government of India. The Chief Guest, Ms. Meeta Rajiv Lochan,IAS  Secretary to the Government of India, Ministry of Youth Affairs delivered a keynote address emphasizing the critical role of the My Bharat Portal in youth engagement and career development through community service. 
Ms. Lochan spoke on the importance of youth participation in nation-building efforts and how the portal provides opportunities for students to build CVs and connect with job opportunities while contributing to social causes. Following her address, Ms. Lochan interacted with students and Programme Officers, addressing issues related to the My Bharat Portal and offering practical solutions, making the session engaging and insightful. The event saw the enthusiastic participation of over 250 NSS volunteers and 40 NSS Programme Officers from various institutions across Chandigarh. 
Cultural performances, including a thought-provoking drama, highlighted the key themes of the day, particularly the role of the My Bharat Portal in career building. Prof. Rama Arora, Principal of PGGC-11, led a Swachhta Pledge, encouraging students to actively participate in cleanliness drives and uphold the national mission of cleanliness. Dr. Monika Dara, NSS Programme Officer, delivered a vote of thanks, acknowledging the efforts of the volunteers, faculty, and dignitaries. Among the others present during the event were  Dr. Nemi Chand Golia, State Liaison Officer, NSS U.T.Chandigarh and Mr. Jai Bhagwan, Youth Officer, RD, Chandigarh, and  other officials.
