This awareness camp was presided over by Nardev Singh Kanwar, Chairman of Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board.
While addressing the villagers, Nardev Singh Kanwar said that public representatives play an important role in making the public welfare schemes run by Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board reach the people. He said that the state government has made a provision of Rs 4 lakh for the children of widowed women to get free higher education and for single women to build their own house in every Panchayat. Apart from this, the state government has increased the assistance amount for marriage of registered workers board or dependent children from Rs 51 thousand to Rs 2 lakh.
Nardev Singh Kanwar said that in every Panchayat of the state, mentally challenged children, elderly as well as unemployed youth having ITI qualification in various trades will be registered. He said that according to Himachal Pradesh Building and Other Construction Workers Welfare Board Act 1996, all the workers who are providing their services in any form in the construction of buildings, roads, irrigation, drainage, embankments, flood control, telephone lines, communication media and other works, all those workers can get registered in the Workers Welfare Board. Nardev Singh Kanwar said that for registration, the age of the workers working in building and other construction works should be between 18 to 60 years and they must have worked in the last 12 months. For registration, the worker will have to submit Aadhar card, copy of bank pass book, ration card, copy of family register and 2 passport size photographs and certificate of 90 days of work in the office of the concerned District Labour Officer.
On this occasion, former Una Assembly MLA Satpal Singh Raijada, Labour Welfare Officer Aman Sharma and other officials were present.
