Nawanshahr/Rahon - On the occasion of Legal Services Day, District Legal Services Authority Shaheed Bhagat Singh Nagar organized an awareness camp at 'Legal Aid Clinic' village Sodhian. On this occasion, Paralegal Volunteer Baldev Bharati State Awardee informed that the authority provides free legal aid to economically weak needy against injustice so that no poor citizen is deprived of getting justice.
In free legal aid the services of lawyers are provided free of charge. A toll free number-1968 has been issued for free legal services. Apart from this, child helpline-1098 against child abuse, women helpline-1091 against abuse of women and police helpline-112 can be called for police assistance. During this camp, Baldev Bharti also gave detailed information about the rights and welfare schemes of unorganized sector workers under 'Usari Mazdoor Welfare Act-1996' and 'Mahatma Gandhi National Rural Employment Grant Act-2005'.
He also informed that the National Lok Adalat is being held on 14 November 2024 at District Court Complex Nawanshahr.
