
MLA Kuljit Singh Randhawa inaugurated the development works done at various schools of Zirakpur at a cost of Rs 51.17 lakh.

Nagar) 29 May 2025: Kuljit Singh Randhawa, MLA of Dera Bassi Assembly Constituency dedicated the new infrastructure works done in Government Middle School Zirakpur, Government Primary School Singhpura and Government Senior Secondary Smart School Ramgarh Bhuda under the "Punjab Shiksha Kranti" campaign to the students and said that the main objective of the Punjab Government is to make government schools at par with private schools so that children of common families can also get high quality education near their home.

He inaugurated the development works done at a cost of Rs 2.80 lakh in Government Middle Smart School of village Zirakpur under Punjab Shiksha Kranti Abhiyan and also felicitated Kripa, the topper student who scored 95 percent marks in class 8, for which Ex-Serviceman District President Amrik Singh Bhullar gave a prize money of Rs 5000.
In the second school, Government Primary Smart School, Village Singhpura, two modern classrooms, boundary wall and building renovation work was inaugurated at a cost of Rs. 32.860 lakh and after this, development work (additional classroom, boundary wall and others) was inaugurated at Government Senior Secondary Smart School, Village Ramgarh Bhuda, Zirakpur at a cost of Rs. 16.37 lakh and dedicated to the students. He further said that renovation work is going on in many schools of Derabassi constituency and every school will be equipped with modern facilities.
He said that this is the first time that the Punjab Government has allocated 12 percent budget for education. Besides this, for excellence in education, the principals, headmasters and teachers of the education department have been sent to institutes like Principal Academy Singapore, National Institute of Education (NIE) International, Turku University Singapore, Finland and Indian Institute of Management (IIM) Ahmedabad.
On this occasion, he thanked the Punjab Government and the Education Minister and said that these development works in schools have created a better educational environment for the students and have given a new direction to the field of government schools, which will further boost the morale of the students studying in government schools and will bring better results in the future.
Renovation of toilets and rooms has not only increased the cleanliness and convenience of the school, but the clean environment has also increased the interest of children in studies. He expressed satisfaction while mentioning the facilities available in the school on this occasion. On this occasion, teachers of schools, parents and students of children, dignitaries of villages and leaders of Aam Aadmi Party were present.
