
Office of District Language Officer, SAS Nagar organised discussion on the book "Vade Tadke Da Sapna"

Jaswant Singh Zafar, Office of District Language Officer, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar in collaboration with Sahityik Saath, SAS Nagar organised a discussion on Dr. Surinder Kaur Chauhan's story collection 'Vade Tadke Da Sapna'.
Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar, March 6: Under the guidance of Higher Education and Language Minister S. Harjot Singh Bains and under the direction of Director Language Department, Punjab S. Jaswant Singh Zafar, Office of District Language Officer, Sahibzada Ajit Singh Nagar in collaboration with Sahityik Saath, SAS Nagar organised a discussion on Dr. Surinder Kaur Chauhan's story collection 'Vade Tadke Da Sapna'.
The programme was presided over by Dr. Surinder Kumar Daveshvar (Former Professor, Punjab University, Chandigarh). Mr. S.K. Aggarwal (Chairman, District Consumer Commission, SAS Nagar) attended as the Chief Guest and Dr. Megha Singh (Former Assistant Editor, Punjabi Tribune) participated. The programme started with the departmental tune 'Dhanu Lekhri Nanka'. Thereafter, Research Officer Dr. Darshan Kaur welcomed the guests and the audience and apprised the audience about the purpose of organising the discussion.
In his presidential address, Dr. Surinder Kumar Deveshwar praised the story collection and said that the story writer has been completely successful in conveying the message to the society with which he has written this story collection. The character building in this has been done in a very psychological way. The chief guest of the program, Mr. S.K. Aggarwal, while praising the book, said that in this, a story of inner conflict has been depicted in every story. The characters surrounded by circumstances seem to be in conflict. The story writer has written this book by understanding Punjab, Punjabis and Punjabi nature.
Special guest Dr. Megha Singh said that these stories make us aware of the mental suffering and painful situations of the elderly and students, especially girls, who are migrating. While talking about her creative process, the story writer Dr. Surinder Kaur Chauhan said that the equations of relationships are changing in the contemporary society, around which this story collection revolves.
According to Dr. Davinder Singh Boha these stories talk about the rejection towards motherland in the mind of a Punjabi man living in migrant land as well as the condition of a woman, her state of mind and dealing with the situations. Pamphlet writer Pushpinder Kaur Patiala while reading an emotional pamphlet about the story collection said that this story collection highlights many aspects related to the transformation of Punjabi cultures living in migrant land, changing nature of relationships, religious fanaticism and status of women.
According to Dr. Jagtar Singh Joga the collection of stories of Surinder Kaur Chauhan is a realistic portrayal of our contemporary society and talks of conscious situations. According to Gurmel Singh Mojowal these stories are meant to give direction to our consciousness as its characters seem to be revolving around us. On this occasion S. Jagroop Singh Jhunir Singh presented his song.
Prof. Jalore Singh Khiva, K.S. Guru, Dr. Sunita Rani, Gurpreet Singh Niyamiyan, Dhyan Singh Kahlon, Parwinder Singh, Balkar Singh Sidhu, Raj Kumar Sahowalia, Babu Ram Deewana, Dr. Harris Bansal, Amarjit Kaur, Neelam Narang, Sukhwinder Singh, Jaswinder Singh Mavi, Dr. Nirmal Singh Khokhar, Krishan Rahi, Prof. Dilbag Singh, Gurmeet Singhal, Manjit Singh, Gurwinder Singh and Baldev Singh were present.
At the end of the program, the entire presidium was honored with appreciation marks and Dr. Davinder Singh Boha thanked the guests and audience for being a part of the discussion. The stage was moderated by Sukhpreet Kaur. On this occasion, a book exhibition was also organized by the office of District Language Officer, SAS Nagar.
