Patiala, July 23 - Deputy Commissioner Shaukat Ahmed Pare today held a meeting with the officials of the concerned departments and representatives of Daylight Company for stubble management in the district and discussed the plan being prepared for stubble management. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that paddy is being grown in three lakh 22 thousand hectares of area in district Patiala and out of this, 6 percent area is used for Basmati and 94 percent for other types of paddy.
Patiala, July 23 - Deputy Commissioner Shaukat Ahmed Pare today held a meeting with the officials of the concerned departments and representatives of Daylight Company for stubble management in the district and discussed the plan being prepared for stubble management. During the meeting, the Deputy Commissioner said that paddy is being grown in three lakh 22 thousand hectares of area in district Patiala and out of this, 6 percent area is used for Basmati and 94 percent for other types of paddy. He said that about 15 lakh metric tonnes of stubble is produced in the district, which is disposed of by ex situ and in situ technology. He said that it is necessary to use the available machinery to its full capacity to dispose of the stubble by both the techniques. While talking to the officials of Daylight Company, which is using the latest technologies to reach the farmers, he said that a time table should be prepared from now itself to reach the farmers as to which day the crop is to be harvested, so that the crop can be harvested and one does not have to face any kind of problem at that time. Some people said that Delight Company is working to provide information about the available machinery to non-farmers through WhatsApp App and other modern apps and soon it will be launched for farmers.
On this occasion, a demo was given regarding the app prepared by Delight Company to provide information about machinery to farmers and to book machinery, which will save time and money and maximum use of available machinery can be made. During the meeting, he also presented his report prepared regarding CRM activities.
The DC said that farmers will have to change their thinking to save their lives, environment and earth so that stubble can be saved without burning it or plowing it in the land. He also sought suggestions from the audience.
