Discussion on Gurmeet Singh Singal's story collection 'Jukya Hoya Sir' and Kavi Darbar Completion

Chandigarh On 21.07.2024 at 10:00 am, Vishwa Punjabi Sahitya Vichar Manch (Regd.) Mohali and Punjabi Sahitya Sabha Mohali organized a discussion and Kavi Darbar on the story collection 'Jhukya Hoya Sir' by famous storyteller Gurmeet Singh Singal at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector-16, Chandigarh.

Chandigarh On 21.07.2024 at 10:00 am, Vishwa Punjabi Sahitya Vichar Manch (Regd.) Mohali and Punjabi Sahitya Sabha Mohali organized a discussion and Kavi Darbar on the story collection 'Jhukya Hoya Sir' by famous storyteller Gurmeet Singh Singal at Punjab Kala Bhawan, Sector-16, Chandigarh. It was presided over by Jung Bahadur Goyal, IAS (Retd.). While Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh attended the function as the chief guest. Eminent writers Manmohan Singh Doon and Sanjeev Singh Huron participated as special guests. Bhagat Ram Rangara, General Secretary of Vishwa Punjabi Sahitya Vichar Manch (Regd.) gave information about the activities of the forum. On this occasion, Manmohan Singh Daun read the book and booklet in detail. Sanjeev Singh and Dr. Swaraj Sandhu gave constructive criticism of the book. Jung Bahadur Goyal said that words awaken as well as torment, but it is very important for a writer to read standard literature to create black literature. He appreciated and hoped that the literary level of the next book would be even better. He appreciated Dr. Deepak Manmohan Singh and said that the storyteller has chosen a good name for the book, 'Bending Head'. It contains stories of the joys and sorrows of the society which inspire. He appreciated that the neglected writer has been given due respect which was not given earlier. Engr. Jaspal Singh Desuvi, President, Vishwa Punjabi Sahitya Vichar Manch (Regd.) said that in today's time, it is necessary to raise the slogan of 'the writers of the world should unite' to fight the current social conditions and materialistic intellectualism. In the second phase, Kavi Darbar was organized, which was jointly presided over by Prince Bahadur Singh Gosal, Balkar Singh Sidhu, Gurdarshan Singh Mavi, Dr. Gurvinder Aman, Babu Ram Deewana and Karamjit Singh Banga. Among the poets present were Engr. Tarsem Raj, Dr. Manjit Bal, Shayar Bhatti, Devinder Dhillon, Simarjit Kaur Grewal, Babu Ram Deewana, Karamjit Singh Bagga, Gurjodh Kaur, Surinder Kaur Bara, Dhyan Singh Kahlon, Dr. Panna Lal Mustafabadi, Kiran Bedi, Prof. Kamaljit Kanwar, Balkar Sidhu etc. who made the audience dance by reciting their compositions. The stage was managed by Dr. Swaraj Sandhu and Bhagat Ram Rangara.
