
Holiday special issue of children's magazine Nikkiya Karumbalan released.
Mahilpur- Under the aegis of Hoshiarpur district unit of Progressive Writers Association Punjab, a function was organized by the Mahilpur unit under the patronage of Professor Baldev Singh Balli, Principal Navtej Garhdiwala to release the holiday special issue of Nikkiya Karumbalan. In which Dr. Sarabjit Singh, President of Punjabi Sahitya Academy and Dr. Sukhdev Singh Sirsa, General Secretary of All India Progressive Writers Association participated as special guests.

While releasing the holiday special issue of Nikkiya Karumbalan, he said that this is the only children's magazine published in Punjabi which is being continuously published under the editorship of Baljinder Mann for the last 30 years. This magazine, registered in the India Book of Records, has made its own identity in the world of children's literature. Nikkiya Karumbalan Publications has taken the initiative to connect children with their mother tongue and establish moral values ??in them.
He appealed to parents and teachers to give children's magazines and books to their children according to their age group. He further said that Punjabi people spend all kinds of money but do not pay attention to the importance of children's literature because they are unaware of it. Students who read children's literature become sensible and ideal citizens and protectors of humanity.
Bagga Singh Artist welcomed everyone and said that Sur Sangam Educational Trust is an effort to connect children with their rich heritage so that they can lead the nation to the higher path by becoming moral values. Presiding over the function, Professor Kewal Kaloti, Principal Armanpreet Singh, Samarjit Singh Shammi, Jeevan Chandeli, Chanchal Singh Bains appreciated the contribution of Karumbalan family in the development of children's literature and culture.
On this occasion, a literary competition was organized for the students and sets of books were given as prizes. Madam Niranjan Kaur, Principal Manjit Kaur, Harmanpreet Kaur, Harveer Mann, Raghveer Singh Kalo, Paramjit Singh Katib along with literature loving teachers and students participated on this occasion. The responsibility of conducting the stage was performed very well by young artist Sukhman Singh. President of Pragatisheel Lekhak Sangh Baljinder Mann thanked everyone and said that we should encourage our children to read children's literature magazines and books apart from the curriculum so that their thinking improves. By doing this they will become mentally and physically strong.
