Patiala, June 29 - A youth of the district's Julkan police station area has made his girlfriend's photo viral by uploading it on Instagram with objectionable comments after she refused to marry him. When the viral pictures reached the girl's family, the family immediately lodged a complaint with senior police officials. Acting on the instructions of the SP, the Cyber ??Crime Police Station has registered a case against the accused Kamaldeep Singh.
According to the girl, they were friends of each other for the last several months. The boy asked her to marry him several times, but she refused. Some time ago when he pressurized and threatened her for marriage, the girl refused and stopped meeting him. Angered by this, the youth took some private pictures of the girl and her family and edited them and uploaded them on Instagram. The accused also wrote obscene comments along with these pictures and made them viral on Instagram from different IDs. The Cyber ??Crime Police Station has registered a case against the accused youth under the provisions of the IT Act, but he has not been arrested yet.
