Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO inaugurated seven solar trees

Patiala, June 26 – Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has taken a unique initiative to commission seven 5 KW solar trees (total capacity 35 KW) at different locations in Patiala city. Inaugurating this project today, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that out of seven solar trees, one solar tree has been planted at PSPCL's head office and the remaining six solar trees have been planted at PSPCL's power colonies in Patiala.

Patiala, June 26 – Punjab State Power Corporation Limited (PSPCL) has taken a unique initiative to commission seven 5 KW solar trees (total capacity 35 KW) at different locations in Patiala city. Inaugurating this project today, Power Minister Harbhajan Singh ETO said that out of seven solar trees, one solar tree has been planted at PSPCL's head office and the remaining six solar trees have been planted at PSPCL's power colonies in Patiala. Solar trees are innovative structures designed to harness solar energy while looking like trees. Apart from this, the tendering process for setting up 31 MW solar power projects on PSPCL premises is in progress. The power minister said that solar trees provide a clean and renewable source of energy, which reduces dependence on fossil fuels and reduces greenhouse gas emissions. He said that "these solar trees will generate about 52,000 units of electricity annually, which can save about 41 tonnes of carbon dioxide emissions annually which is equivalent to about 1015 fully grown trees in terms of CO2 absorption. The Power Minister said that " Solar trees serve as an educational tool, raising awareness about renewable energy and sustainability.
On this occasion Eng Baldev Singh Saran C MD PSPCL, Eng DPS Grewal Director Distribution, Eng Paramjit Singh Director Generation, Eng Ravinder Singh Saini Director Commercial, CASK Berry Director Finance, Shri Jasbir Singh Sur Singh Director Admin were also present.
