This International Yoga Day is celebrated every year on June 21 to promote the many benefits of yoga practice. The day serves as a platform to create awareness about the holistic approach to wellness offered by yoga. The theme chosen for this year's International Yoga Day 2024 is “Yoga for Self and Society”, the importance of International Yoga Day is to raise awareness about the many benefits of yoga for physical and mental health. Yoga is a mind-body practice that originated in India thousands of years ago. It combines physical postures, breathing exercises, and meditation. Yoga has been shown to improve flexibility, strength, balance and endurance. It can also help reduce stress, anxiety and depression.
Deepak Chopra, a staff member present at the center on this occasion, said that Yoga Day is celebrated every year on June 21 all over the world and explaining the importance of this day, said that today is the longest day, so Yoga Day is celebrated. He said that yoga is good not only for physical health but also for mental health. On this occasion, he made different types of yoga asanas to the patients admitted to the center and also told about the benefits of each asana to the body.
On this occasion, patients including staff members Dinesh Kumar, Manjot, Kamala Rani and Dinesh Badhan were present.
