District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa gave this information after visiting various polling booths of the district. He said that there are 2 lakh 56 thousand 435 male voters and 2 lakh 38 thousand 729 female voters and 19 third gender voters. Apart from this, there are 14 thousand 002 voters aged 18 to 19 years, 5132 PWD voters and 4561 above 85 years of age, 256 NRI voters and 1298 service voters. He said that 615 polling booths have been constructed in the district, there are 201 polling booths in Banga constituency, 217 polling booths in Nawanshahr and 197 polling booths in Balachore. Apart from this, 170 polling booths have been declared sensitive and 3 pink, 1 PWD and 30 model polling booths are being constructed.
 The District Election Officer said that the preparations of the polling booths have been completed for the convenience of the voter and this time the voting percentage has been set to exceed 75 percent. To attract the voters, the polling booth at Rahon has been designed based on the theme of Mr. India movie.  District Election Officer-cum-Deputy Commissioner Navjot Pal Singh Randhawa said that although the heat is very hot, all kinds of arrangements have been made at the polling booth for the convenience of the voters so that they do not face any difficulty in voting. He said that through the new voting app, the voters will get information about the queue for voting at home and they should make sure to come to the polling booths for voting according to their convenience. He said that all the arrangements like cooler, cold water/syrup water, tent etc. have been made at the polling booths.
