Organized block level farmer training camp regarding proper management of crop residues

Patiala, August 17 - According to the guidelines of the Punjab Government and Deputy Commissioner Shaukat Ahmed Pare, under the arrangements of the Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh, the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department organized a farmer awareness camp at village Gajewas. During the camp, Block Agriculture Officer Dr. Satish Kumar said that fire incidents have reduced to a great extent in 2023 compared to 2022 in Block Samana.

Patiala, August 17 - According to the guidelines of the Punjab Government and Deputy Commissioner Shaukat Ahmed Pare, under the arrangements of the Chief Agriculture Officer Dr. Jaswinder Singh, the Agriculture and Farmers Welfare Department organized a farmer awareness camp at village Gajewas. During the camp, Block Agriculture Officer Dr. Satish Kumar said that fire incidents have reduced to a great extent in 2023 compared to 2022 in Block Samana.
He said that a large-scale awareness campaign has been started by the district administration to take the incidents of paddy stubble to zero level in Patiala district. He said that during the current year, the beneficiary farmers who have applied for subsidy and agricultural machinery under the Crop Residue Management Scheme are being given approval letters to buy subsidy and agricultural machinery. Dr. Gurmail Singh Agriculture Development Officer gave detailed information to the farmers about the seeds.
He told the farmers about how to prepare their seed house and detailed information was given by Dr. Aman Sandhu about proper use of fertilizers. Dr. Amandeep Kaur told about the importance of soil water testing. Dr. Lovepreet Singh informed about the attack and prevention of paddy/basmati and/insects. And Dr. Ravinderpal Singh Chatha gave detailed information to the farmers regarding the PM Kisan Nidhi Yojana scheme and various schemes running in the department. The present farmers were sworn not to set the paddy straw on fire.
On this occasion, apart from others, Harjinder Singh, Gurdev Singh Tiwana and progressive farmers Prabhajit Singh, Bhagwan Singh, Gurcharan Singh Namada, Chamkaur Singh Khatriwala, Manjit Singh etc., a large number of farmers were present and the staff of Agriculture Department Samana were present.
