In which the majority of the pensioners from the four divisions of Guraya, Banga, Nawanshahr and Garshankar participated under Circle Nawanshahr.
Kulwinder Atwal, Jagdish Chandra, Madan Lal, Balveer Dusanjh, Kashmiri Lal, Amar Singh, Ravinder Rahon, Sardara Singh, Swaran Singh, Kamal Dev, Niranjan Singh, Shambhu Rahon, Mahendra Lal, Surjit Charan, Balveer, Husan Bhatia, Amrik Singh Aur, Mool Raj, Shadi Ram Saloh, Gurmukh Singh, Sanjeev Kumar, Vijay Kumar, Surinder Lakha, etc. leaders said in their address that under the banner of the Punjab Employees and Pensioners Joint Front, in the past with little Unprecedented Punjab-level sit-ins were held in Chandigarh and other cities of Punjab.
On the occasion of these dharnas, the officials who came to collect the demand letter from the government kept contacting the government by phone and fixing the time for meetings. But the Punjab government is not holding meetings and running away from the meetings despite scheduling the meetings. This proves that the intention of the government to resolve our demands is not right. Whereas the states adjoining Punjab have paid their employees and pensioners the installments and arrears of installments from 1-1-16 till now. Yes, then why not in Punjab?
The pensioners raised loud slogans against this short-sighted behavior of the Punjab government and said that if DA installments are not arrears from 1-1-16, then there is no vote. If DA installments are pending, then no vote.   If the factor of 2.59 is not there then no vote. They protested against the government by chanting slogans of "no vote" if the pensionary benefit is not paid. Ashwini Kumar Gadshankar played the role of stage secretary very well.
