Patiala, May 17 - Three slums were burnt to ashes due to a short circuit in the slums built in Jasmin Colony on Sanur Road, but there was no loss of life in the incident. The people who reached the spot said that the fire spread so much within a short time that they did not even get a chance to pick up the goods kept in the huts.
A cylinder kept in a hut also exploded due to the fire. After the information, the fire brigade team reached the spot and after a lot of trouble with three vehicles, the fire was brought under control. An official of the fire department said that when the fire could not be extinguished with one vehicle, two more vehicles were called.
