SAS Nagar, May 13 – Garbage lying outside the booths in the market located in front of Gurudwara Sacha Dhan in local phase 3B2 has become a cause of trouble for market goers and market shopkeepers. Nowadays, due to the hot season, this garbage gives off a bad smell, which causes great inconvenience to people.
A shopkeeper of the market said that the managers of some of the food and drink shops located in the market throw out the garbage and other garbage left in their shops at night, which are picked up by hawkers in the evening, and because of this, they are here all day. Garbage piles up. He said that this garbage has a bad smell due to which it becomes difficult for them to sit and the customers coming to the market are also suffering.
When contacted in this regard, the sanitary inspector of this area said that the garbage which is thrown by common customers in the garbage bins kept in the market is removed by the employees of the corporation in the morning. He said that the owners of three or four hotels located in this market collect their daily waste and throw it outside. While these shopkeepers cannot dump this waste in this manner and it is their responsibility to separate this waste (which includes wet and dry waste) and bring it to the dumping point.
They said that they will clean the garbage in the market immediately and appropriate action will be taken against these hoteliers.
