
Sangam Indian Folk Dance and Music Festival successfully organized in Rayat Bahra
Hoshiarpur- A grand ‘Sangam Indian Folk Dance and Music Festival’ was organized at Rayat Bahra Education City in collaboration with B.Ed College and National Youth Development Center Talwara. In which students from all the colleges of the campus showcased their cultural talent in a grand manner. The event entertained the audience with competitions like debate, group discussion and community work as well as mesmerizing performances of Giddha, Bhangra and folk songs.

The event entertained the audience with competitions like debate, group discussion and community work as well as mesmerizing performances of Giddha, Bhangra and folk songs.
The program began with the welcome of the guests by Principal Dr. Pallavi Pandit. Former Union Minister Vijay Sampla was present as the chief guest and in his address he appealed to the youth to take active participation in cultural activities along with education. He also said that students should not only focus on academic progress but should also value their relationships.
On this occasion, Campus Director Dr. Chandra Mohan said that such events promote teamwork, leadership skills and social cohesion among the students. He said that the event was successful in showcasing the cultural talent and all-round development of the students as well as instilling a sense of social responsibility in them. During the program, the students also took out an awareness rally against drug abuse, which conveyed the social message more effectively.
On this occasion, Director of National Youth Development Center Sanjeev Jakhmi said that events like 'Sangam Indian Folk Dance and Music Festival' play an important role in connecting the youth with their culture and enhancing their talent.
The judges in the program were Dr. Maninder Grover, Dr. Sukhmeet Bedi, Prof. Vikramjit Singh, Prof. Simranjit Kaur and Prof. Gursharan Saini made minute-by-minute comments on the performances of the participants while Dr. Kuldeep Walia, Raman Deep, Sandeep Kaur and Janmpreet performed brilliantly in stage management and made the entire program a success. On this occasion, the students who secured first positions in the competitions were also honored. In which Chetna Chaudhary (Debate), Amanpreet (Solo Song), Kanan (Solo Dance), Law College (Group Dance) secured first positions. On this occasion, the Directors, Principals, Heads of Departments, Teachers of all the colleges of the campus including Harinder Jaswal, Kuldeep Rana and Prof. Gurpreet Bedi were present in the program.
