
Maharaj Agrasen Jayanti Celebration: Former Justice Rakesh Garg and Haryana Assembly Speaker Gyan Chand became chief guests
Chandigarh, October 6 - Maharaja Agrasen's 5148th birth anniversary celebrations were held with great pomp in Chandigarh today. Former Justice Rakesh Garg of Punjab and Haryana High Court attended the special occasion as the chief guest, while Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta made a special appearance.
Chandigarh, October 6 - Maharaja Agrasen's 5148th birth anniversary celebrations were held with great pomp in Chandigarh today. Former Justice Rakesh Garg of Punjab and Haryana High Court attended the special occasion as the chief guest, while Haryana Assembly Speaker Gian Chand Gupta made a special appearance.
The program began with a havan at 8:15 am, followed by a blood donation camp at 10:15 am. The guests were accorded a grand welcome at 7 pm and cultural programs began at 7:30 pm.
Agrawal Sabha President Nand Kishore Goyal presided over the function, and Ram Kumar Singla and Rashi Nirvani Jain graced the event as special guests.
Sabha's press secretary Dr Shekhar Jindal said that under Maharaja Agrasen's 'one brick, one coin' principle, the Sabha has been running the Vidyaan program for the last one year, through which employment opportunities are being provided to needy women. Under this program, women prepare kurta-pyjamas, bags etc., a special exhibition of which was also organized at the function.
Along with this, free computer and sewing classes are also being conducted by the Sabha, which is helping women from different sections of the society to become self-reliant. During the celebrations, the 26th blood donation camp was organized, which is an important link in the service work of the Sabha.
Cultural programs made this birth anniversary celebration even more memorable, in which various artists participated and brought alive the ideals of Maharaja Agrasen.
