Four arrested with 8.5 kg heroin; case registered against five.

Ferozepur- The district Ferozepur police achieved success in the ongoing campaign against drugs when the Ferozepur police arrested 4 smugglers with 7 kg 776 grams of heroin from different places and registered cases against 5 under the NDPS Act.

District Police Chief Bhupinder Singh said that SI Paramjit Kaur of the City Ferozepur police station received information that Kamal Kumar, resident of Street No. 6 Kasuri Gate, Ferozepur, and Rahul, resident of village Ichche Wala, Ferozepur, both are involved in the business of selling heroin and even today both of them are coming to Ferozepur city from village Kunde on motorcycles to sell heroin. The police said that the above persons were arrested after a raid and 1 kg 9 grams of heroin and a motorcycle were recovered from them.
The District Police Chief said that similarly, Inspector Mohit Dhawan received information that Krishan Singh, a resident of village Niyal, district Patiala, is smuggling heroin. 
He has a Mahindra pickup, through which he often transports heroin from Ferozepur area and sells it in his area. Inspector Mohit Dhawan arrested the said person by conducting a roadblock and recovered 5 kg 225 grams of heroin, a Mahindra vehicle and a mobile phone from him.
Apart from this, five Madras Army have arrested a person with 3 packets of heroin. He has said that on receiving information, Assistant Police Station Officer Sukhbir Singh reached Hussainiwala Head Naka with a police party. 
The person arrested with heroin was identified as Rohit Kumar, a resident of Jhugga Hazara Singh Wala, while another person escaped with a packet of heroin along with a motorcycle.
Rohit named the person who ran away as Sandeep Singh, a resident of Hazara Singh slum. The weight of heroin in these three packets was found to be 1 kg 542 grams.
