
Railway Minister approves Rajpura-Mohali railway line, long-standing demand of district residents fulfilled: Subhash Sharma.
SAS Nagar, September 23 – Expressing happiness over the Railway Minister’s approval for the 18 km railway line from Mohali to Rajpura, BJP Punjab Vice President Dr. Subhash Sharma has said that this railway line to be laid at a cost of Rs 450 crore will greatly benefit the people of Mohali. Addressing a press conference here this afternoon, he said that connectivity with Rajpura will open many routes to Delhi, which will make travel to Delhi very easy.

BJP Punjab Treasurer Sukhwinder Singh Goldy and BJP District President Sanjeev Vasisht were also present on this occasion. Dr. Subhash Sharma said that this project will not only provide rail connectivity to the public, but will also benefit trade and industry a lot. He said that industrialists will be able to transport their goods to Delhi easily.
He said that railways have always benefited the industry a lot, and now the industrialists of Mohali will also benefit. Appealing to the Punjab government to acquire land for these projects, he said that the Central Government has given two big rail projects to Punjab, but it is the responsibility of the state government to acquire land for these.
He said that the Punjab government should acquire land as soon as possible and provide it to the Central Government so that the people of Punjab can benefit. It is worth mentioning here that Union Minister Ashwini Vaishnav has made two important announcements for Punjab in Delhi today. He has approved the Vande Bharat train for Punjab. Union Minister of State for Railways Ravneet Singh Bittu was also present with him on this occasion.
Mr. Vaishnav said that the Vande Bharat train will leave Ferozepur Cantonment at 7:55 am and will reach Delhi at 2:30 pm via Bathinda, Dhuri, Patiala, Ambala Cantonment, Kurukshetra and Panipat. This 486 km journey will take six hours and 40 minutes. This train will run six days a week except Wednesday. It will depart from Delhi at 4:00 pm and reach Ferozepur at 10:35 pm.
The Union Minister said that along with this, the Chandigarh-Rajpura railway line (which was pending for years) will be completed. This will benefit the people of Malwa region. This track will pass through Fatehgarh Sahib, Ambala, Patiala and Mohali. The new Rajpura-Mohali line is 18 km long and will cost about Rs 443 crore.
