Hoshiarpur:- With the aim of accelerating development works and enhancing the beauty of the city, MLA Brahm Shankar Jimpa today visited the old courthouse and the old Civil Surgeon's office adjacent to it. Mayor Surinder Kumar, SDM Hoshiarpur Gursimranjit Kaur and other officials were also present on the occasion. MLA Jimpa said that after the courthouse was shifted and the Civil Surgeon's office was converted into a hospital, the entire area has become deserted and neglected.
Without maintenance for a long time, this place is slowly taking the form of a forest, which negatively affects the image of the city. He clarified that this land is under PUDA, so the responsibility of its maintenance and development is also of PUDA. The MLA instructed the PUDA officials to develop this complex as per their plan. Even if there is no possibility of any major project, regular cleaning and maintenance is a must so that this place does not fall victim to neglect.
MLA Jimpa said that concrete steps will be taken towards creating a green belt by building a track around this campus. He said that the Municipal Corporation is ready to cooperate in this work, which will provide a clean and green environment to the citizens. The MLA said that he will write a letter to the Punjab Health Minister and demand the re-establishment of the old Civil Surgeon's office at the same place.
This will make health services closer and accessible to the city residents. He gave strict instructions to the district administration and PUDA officials to make this place clean, safe and organized as soon as possible, so that it can be used in the public interest in a better way.
