This trend can be stopped only if the young generation is provided with good playgrounds, sports kits and other equipment.
Sports were promoted a lot during the Akali Dal government, but unfortunately, the current government does not pay any attention to sports. These views were expressed by former cabinet minister Janmeja Singh Sekhon on the occasion of inaugurating the open gym in the park of Friends Club of village Maur Kalan.
It is noteworthy that Member of Parliament Biba Harsimrat Kaur Badal had given a grant of Rs 3 lakh from her discretionary quota for the gym of this club, under which this open gym built in the club's ground was inaugurated.
