Patiala: Today, Technical Service Union Circle Patiala President Harjeet Singh Sekhon and Circle Secretary Biresh Kumar said in a joint statement that Technical Service Union Punjab, Powercom and Transco, Contract Workers Union, Pesco Union in Patiala Circle called for a complete strike and halted work.
Various speakers expressed gratitude to the electricity employees for making this strike successful. During this, Bikar Khan, Darshan Kumar, Bhagwan Singh, Karamjit Singh, Inderjit Singh, Biresh Kumar, Joginder Singh Mauji, Harjeet Singh addressed. Former Vice President Vijay Dev also participated in this rally. All the speakers demanded that the Central Government and Punjab Government should stop the policy of privatization, contract employees should be recruited and regularized in the Electricity Board.
The dismissed leaders should be reinstated immediately as per the court decision, permanent recruitment should be done on the posts in the Electricity Board as per the rules. Minimum wages should be given as per the 15th Labor Conference. Old pension scheme should be implemented. Etc. demands should be accepted. More than 400 electricity employees from Patiala Circle to Fort Sub-Division demonstrated and demanded that the above demands be implemented immediately.
