SAS Nagar, April 29 - The Congress Party has nominated former Minister of Punjab Mr. Vijay Inder Singla from the Lok Sabha Constituency Sri Anandpur Sahib on the party ticket. Mr. Singla is considered to be close to Congress leader Mr. Rahul Gandhi. He has also been a former member of the Lok Sabha from Sangrur and has also been an MLA from Sangrur constituency and has also been a minister of Punjab.
After being nominated by the party from Sri Anandpur Sahib Constituency, Mr. Singla said that he is a loyal soldier of the party and the party has given him an opportunity to serve the people. He said that from time to time he has been entrusted with responsibilities by the party in Punjab and outside Punjab and he has always fulfilled every responsibility with hard work and honesty and by working to the best of his ability. He said that today the party has given an opportunity on the holy land of Sri Anandpur Sahib. He said that the way they have worked for the development of Sangrur earlier and brought many important projects there, they will work for the development of Sri Anandpur Sahib.
He said that there is a need for development in Sri Anandpur Sahib constituency and there is a need to take the area forward so that the future of the people can be better and the youth of the area can get employment. He said that to improve the health sector, he had opened a PGI center and Tata Cancer Center for Sangrur where the surrounding areas get treatment facilities. He said that the cancer hospital opened in Mullapur was also connected with it and his name was also taken by Prime Minister Dr. Manmohan Singh on the occasion of its inauguration.
He said that the land of Sri Anandpur Sahib Constituency is the land of Gurus and he is fortunate that he got the opportunity to work here. He said that the works to be done for the development of this area will be done on priority basis.
